Project Description: Introduce the new JVC JY-HD10U
through Innovative Marketing Partnerships
Case Study: Tava has always believed in maximizing the potential of any
opportunity.  In the summer of 2003, Little Princess Productions, the film and television
subsidiary of The S Media Group, was getting ready to tape the pilot episode of a new
show for VH1 at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Pittsburg, PA.  Musical acts featured at
the fair included 311, Trapt, Puddle of Mudd, Def Leppard, Blink 182, and Sum 41.  In
order to bring down production costs, Tava decided to go to JVC.  We proposed using
their newest product, a low-cost high definition MiniDV camera, in exchange for
exposure in Videography magazine about the shoot and how the camera was used.  By
employing this strategy, Tava was able to get free publicity in Videography Magazine
for the show as well as for JVC, and free use of a $3,500 camera that was not even out
on the market yet.  While our show focused on the band that had won a nationwide
contest (sponsored by Hard Rock Cafe) to open for Def Leppard, we were also able to
secure a contract to shoot Puddle of Mudd’s first high-definition video of their live
show.  This video, in return, is shown across the country in HD training sessions
sponsored by JVC.
